Toto Ultramax Elongated One Piece Review (Updated March ’20)
The Toto Ultramax Elongated One Piece is a toilet whose main priorities seem to revolve around a quiet operation. This is great for those living with one or more people who could be considered as being light sleepers. Relative to its flushing power, the effect becomes even more noticeable, being that toilets with similar power are often quite loud in nature (think of the last toilet you saw in a public place). It also comes with a seat which is very quiet upon being closed, even when simply dropped into place.
Outside of its supreme level of quietness, it also does a great job in all the the basic functions you would expect to look for in a toilet. As such, its quiet operation could be considered as being nothing more than a convenient bonus if you’re simply looking for a toilet that tackles all of the basics. For under five hundred dollars, you’ll find it to be quite average in price, making it suitable to a larger portion of people’s budget. Let’s go in for a closer look.
FLUSHING EFFECTIVENESS
While the flushing effectiveness of the Toto Ultramax Elongated One Piece is great, I had to dock it a point in this regard, being that you can find more powerful toilets in this aspect with little searching. However, its flushing power is certainly above average, which is something easy to appreciate. What is perhaps most interesting about its flushing power is that it’s very high relative to the amount of noise the toilet makes while actively being flushed. While it might sound like a very low-flow toilet, this is truly not the case at all. It’s nice to see a manufacturer blend two features which are often found on opposite sides of the spectrum, giving a solution to those who need a high-power toilet though just can’t settle for something which sounds like a high-power toilet.
DURABILITY
Because everyone will have a different experience in this regard, the best possible way to get a sense for a toilet’s overall level of durability is to see what past customers have to say. While I myself could say that I haven’t had any bad experiences in this regard, I’m just one person. For a larger (and, thus, more accurate) sample size, it’s always a great idea to turn to any given product’s largest hub of reviews; its Amazon page.
By clicking the link at the bottom of this review and scrolling down, you’ll see nothing but happy reviews by past customers. The rate at which you hear of the Toto Ultramax Elongated One Piece breaking unexpectedly is non-existent. This is great, being that we’re talking about opinions given by ninety-two different people. If you’re after a great deal of assurance in terms of your toilet’s durability, this particular product should prove to be an excellent choice.
QUALITY
There’s not a whole lot to say here. The Toto Ultramax Elongated One Piece performs in an above-par fashion in every basic feature. On top of that, it is extremely quiet and comes with a seat which is also focused on being very quiet. The toilet certainly has a high level of quality about it.
DESIGN AND FINISH
The fact that the toilet in question consists of one solid piece (as opposed to the tank being separate from the rest of the unit) not only gives it a sleek look, but makes it extremely easy to clean the outside of the toilet. This gives it a nice finish which you can expect to hold onto for some time. The fact that cleaning the entire outside of the toilet shouldn’t even take a whole minute is also a great time-saver. You certainly can’t go wrong with that.
WARRANTY
With its included warranty only standing one year in length, the Toto Ultramax Elongated One Piece might not offer as much consumer protection as you could hope for. Although you can expect the unit to well-outlive the warranty in question, it would still be nice to see some more protection again manufacturing defects, no matter how unheard of they may be. This is truly my only gripe with this toilet.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Aside from its rather lackluster warranty, you’ll find the Toto Ultramax Elongated One Piece to be a great toilet when used in the right household. Simply put, if you’d like a quiet toilet which doesn’t sacrifice on flushing effectiveness, this particular product may be one of your few viable options. Outside of its quietness, it still does a great job of tackling all of the basic functions you’d expect in a toilet, making it great for a wide range of households.
